Personality & Traits

General Overview		He is not afraid to speak his mind. He cares for those under him however he can struggle to work under a hierarchy.
Strengths & Weaknesses		Archer is a fantastic pilot (as his call sign - Ace would suggest) and he is also a competent mechanic and has often made quick repairs to his fighter during a battle. Archer his passionate about his sense of right and wrong and ended up in trouble numerous times because of his sense disagreeing with his senior officer. However as he has matured, he has learnt to be slightly more diplomatic, slightly... Whilst having no issue of facing death himself, leading others into dangerous situations often weighs heavy on him. He is also terrified of causing the death of a crew member.
Ambitions		Up until his posting to the USS Majesty, Archer's main aim was to become an Air Group Commander aboard a Starship. Now he is there, his aim is to do the best possibly job and ably defend the ship, the starbase and the Federation. Longer term, Archer has aspirations of commanding his own ship one day but has a lot of learning to do before that point.
Hobbies & Interests		In addition to flying, Archer's main hobbies include reading and board games - something he will often use as an ice breaker when meeting new people.

Personal History		He was born in the New Scotland bio dome on the planet of Mars in the Sol system. His family moved from Trill to Mars 2 generations ago. Apart from vacations he had lived in the New Scotland Bio Dome all of his life. This was until he was 15. He applied and was accepted to the Mars Cargo Haul group - this involved flying an orbital cargo ship between the bio domes. This was a weekend job until he left school. When he left school, he was 16 and the Sol Cargo Haul group had an interest in him. Soon he was flying a celestial cargo ship, ferrying cargo between all the planets in the Sol system. When he was 17, he broke the record for the fastest cargo run to Jupiter and back. At the age of 18, he was accepted into Starfleet Academy. He started studying engineering but he failed all of his exams despite a lot of hard work. Fortunately, the Academy doesn't kick any body out until the end of the second year. Again, fortunately for Scott, a professor looked into his background to see if they could figure out a way to help him. That's when she came across his cargo record. In his second year, he switched his primary course to piloting a fighter and kept engineering as his secondary. He learnt how to fly a fighter in a week. By the end of the year, he was beating 4th years and even officers in war games. At the end of his third year, he started to pull through more on his exams. Whilst many were borderline between fail and pass, his fighter training passed at 100% and with the suggestion that he looked more at mechanics than engineering, his exam scores in that even began to pick up. In the fourth year, he continued to demonstrate excellent ability in fighter piloting. Much to everyone's surprise, including his own, he left the fourth year with one fail but every other exam was passed at a distinction, including his engineering course. He left with a commission to Starfleet as a Second Lieutenant. His first posting was at Starbase 342 until that base was destroyed in an incident involving Orion Pirates. They caught the station by surprise as the majority of the fighters were out on a training exercise. Archer's wing was the only wing left and they were forced to flee as 5 Orion cruisers with 12 frigates bore down on them. Archer was commended and promoted. Following the Dominion War and the continuing tensions after the war, Starfleet had expanded it's fleet with several warships, most notably several Defiant class ships and a new carrier class named the 'Vanguard.' Archer was assigned as a second in command of the 4th wing aboard the Vanguard.
